Yes, all licensees must complete 60 hours of Board approved education
Is there a state exam requirement to be licensed?
Yes, all licensees must pass the National Home Inspector Exam
Are there any experience requirements to be licensed?
No
Are there any other requirements to be licensed?
- Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Submit the application and the appropriate fees
- Submit proof of insurance including general liability of $250,000/occurrence and Errors and Omissions of $250,000/occurrence
When do the license expire?
All licenses expire two (2) years after its date of issuance.
Are there any Continuing Education requirements to renew a license?
Each person who applies for renewal of his license shall successfully complete home inspector continuing education courses approved by the commission at the rate of twenty (20) hours every two (2) years.
